There’s a crack in everything; that’s how the light gets in. ~ Leonard Cohen
These belts might be my favorite thing we’ve made so far.
The blue floral printed lambskin that started it all was purchased nearly a year ago with the hopes that it could be a neck for a custom ruff. It turned out to be laughably unfit for that purpose (and I’ve learned a *lot* about ordering leather since) but the print was compelling, and I figured I’d find a use for it.
By the time winter came around and we actually had time to play with some new designs, I knew I wanted to use the stashed blue and white floral to do a series of Kintsugi style belts that would look like Delft-style ceramics that had been broken and repaired with gold.
In total, we made 6 belts. I kept one for myself (hey, there have to be *some* designer perks, ok?) Two went home at the Edwardian Ball, and one was purchased by a custom client, leaving two more in the run. Since they’re not great candidates for the naturally harsh conditions of the Ren Faire booth, we thought it best to put them online.
It’s likely that we’ll make more belts in this style, but they won’t be with this pattern since this was all we had (and could get) of this particular leather. Just like the Monarch showstoppers, Kintsugi belts are now a custom order option, so if this sparks your imagination, feel free to get in touch.

We offer FREE resizing on all belts FOR LIFE! If you love the belt and need it resized, please refer to our sizing chart and indicate desired size in a note at check out (or you can contact us after purchase). We recommend choosing a size that can accommodate both waist and hips if possible for maximum versatility in styling and ask that you allow up to 5 additional business days for resizing before we ship.
Leather is notoriously difficult to photograph properly to show their true colors. Images are as close to the items actual color as possible but not exact. Additionally, not all devices and screens are calibrated in the same way, which can result in inaccurate color representation.
